History

The grinding US band was without a doubt one of the more humourous grind outfits out there. Just look out the band's logo! The band began life by releasing a number of demos, splits and 7"s before shortening its name for obvious reasons and settling down with Earache. Never discriminating, main man Seth Putnam ridicules everything from Manowar to blacks to the underground to labels and back. While band members come and go, former Executioner member Putnam is the mainstay of the group. The gang didn't really seem to care for bass guitars much. They also harvested a reputation for having the most destructive (literally) live set out there. Picnic Of Love is an acoustic piece! Putnam and Anselmo of Pantera have traded backing vocals for each other's albums, with the former being heard on the latter's Southern Trendkill. Anal Cunt called it a day and broke up as of December 21, 2001. The band's last show was in Massachusetts. To celebrate its fifteenth anniversary the original lineup of Anal Cunt, a.k.a A.C., reunited in the winter of 2003 at first for a one-off and then for a string of shows. A tour of Japan was announced for 2004. Seth Putnam flew to Russia in the spring of 2006 in order to perform with an Anal Cunt cover band called Anal Nosorog. Anal Cunt, in the meanwhile, featured guitarist Josh Martin, who replaced John Kozik, and returning drummer Nate Linehan.
