History

Initially thought of as an underground black metal super group, Arcturus devolved into an avantgarde and off beat confusion. The band's founding member is actually keyboardist Sverd who had founded the band while in Mortem. Constellation was supposedly a limited edition release of 500 copies.

Aspera Hiems Symfonia was re-released through Candlelight in 2002. Garm left the act in early 2003. His replacement was Spiral Architect's Øyvind Hægeland. A DVD called Shipwrecked In Stockholm was issued in 2006. The band’s bassist, Hugh Mingay, was involved in a motorcycle accident in April of 2006. Consequently, the three Norwegian shows scheduled for April had to be cancelled. The band threw in the towel ostensibly for personal reasons in early 2007. The group’s last live appearance was in Australia.
