History & Biography
The Dark Empire was headquartered out of New York as of 2004 and had a demo called Northern Sky in 2006. The group belonged to Mr. Matt Moliti. Bassist Noah Martin of Arsis was part of the ensemble. The band parted ways with singer Jens Carlsson in late 2008/early 2009. The singer’s base of Sweden made touring and rehearsing difficult.

Urban Breed (Bloodbound, Tad Morose, etc.) joined in 2010. Urban replaced Jens Carlsson (Persuader and Savage Circus) who had left in 2008. Dark Empire's From Refuge To Ruin was due that year. It was instead recorded in 2010 and 2011 and released in 2012. Brian Larkin, who was on vocals on this album, left in 2013. Bassist Randy Knecht departed as well in the same year in tandem with the band's dissolution. This meant that new singer Derrick Schneider and keyboardist and guitarist Harris Bergsohn lasted a year. Matt Moliti ended the band in the summer of 2013 in order to focus on other sounds and acts.
