History
French Satanists Glorior Belli convened in 2002 as Mogradem and in a year released the Evil Archaic Order demo. The band’s debut album was issued in 2005 through Eerie Art with Satanic Propaganda Records taking care of a tape version. The group next made a pact with Southern Lord and issued Manifesting… in June of 2007. The band released its newest full-length album, Meet Us At The Southern Sign, on June 2nd, 2009 through Candlelight Records. Infestus had taken over the bass guitar. The band was forced to cancel its participation in the CIII tour in the USA and Canada with Absu, Averse Sefira and the US version of Sothis in the spring of 2009. The band could not obtain a US visa. The band soon announced the addition of drummer Gaël Barthelemy (Balrog, Svartcrown, Antaeus and Diabolic) to the band. Glorior Belli next recruited bassist Jay Newman and drummer Darren Verni both of Unearthly Trance. They join Chris (a.k.a. Alastor) and Julien (a.k.a. Infestvvs).

GLORIOR BELLI – MANIFESTING THE RAGING BEAST – SOUTHERN LORD
The US South is best known for a love affair with Jesus, all things fundamentalist and often called The Bible Belt for this reason. It is fascinating then that in such a neighbourhood a Southern Lord would become the entity to channel such praiseworthy Luciferian music.
Glorior Belli might sound like yet another delicate so-called power metal band, but look at the album’s name. That is the album’s title and music. This is a black metal band influenced by equal parts Mayhem and Dissection with a twist. Glorior Belli has a mean streak of doom running through its nefarious blood that is manifested in the feral beats, tempos such as the one found on opening track From Darkness There Springs Light or dominating the song Altered Verses. In fact, the rare guitar solo of the album which is heard on the latter song is uncannily familiar to something Solitude Aeturnus would play. Now that is irony. A special nod goes to drummer M:A Fog whose rhythm and sound remind one once again why every band need a human drummer with blood pumping in his veins. Be it heaviness, violence, fury or fullness of sound Glorior Belli is another tribute to the French metal movement. – Ali “The Metallian”
