History
Hanker was formed in 1985 by Patrick Gravel, Pascal Cliche, Martin
Jones
and Jean-François Fillion. The heavy metal unit played in the Quebec
City area for about five years before being joined by Luc Guay on
drums.
It was not until 1991 that the band released a demo. The band shot a
video for the song Disturbing The Brain.
In Our World was re-released in Germany in 1996 by Art Of Music, with
two bonus songs, under the In Our World Revisited name. This version
featured two extra songs. The Dead Ringer was a concept album narrating
the diary of a deceased man. The first and third albums were released
on
vinyl by Cult Metal Classics Records.
The band signed with Skyscraper Records and began writing song towards
a
2004 album. Hanker was also booked for Headbangers Open Air 2004. The
band and bassist Denis Cossette
went their separate ways in the autumn of 2004.
