The Aachen, Germany-based Helicon was formed as early as 1987. The band recorded a demo tape called The Heimbach Tapes. Another tape called Black And White was recorded in 1989 and soon released independently as a single. Following several line-up changes, Berlin's Noise Records offered the band a contract.
The band's debut was released in 1993, live tracks appeared on the Power Of Metal Live sampler and another full-length came out in 1995. The band would soon split up following a couple of defections and the loss of its contract.
