History & Biography
This band was initially formed in 1994 as a side-project to Pungent Stench. Hollenthon was a strange beast often sounding like Therion-gone-mad. The duo mixed different extreme styles with world music. The duo used Mrs. Elena Schirenc as a backing singer. Several live musicians accompanied the band on stage. Fans first heard the band as Vuzem on the Austrian Black Metal Syndicate - Norici Obscura Pars sampler.

Hollenthon was touring Europe with Siebenbürgen in 2002 and would also play Wacken in the summer. The band was back with a new album, Opus Magnum, in the summer of 2008. A 2009 EP was called Tyrants And Wraiths. It featured videos from Graspop Metal Meeting 2008 festival. Hollenthon lost bassist Gregor Marboe in May of 2010 and replaced him with a Max Reif.

The band is named after the town in which it was founded.
