NEFARIUM - AD DISCIPULUM – AGONIA  
Nefarium hails from Italy and is one of those ripping black/death metal bands that can turn a storm of hate on a dime. The vocals are deeper than average and brutal, while the music touches upon several Immortal characteristics. Despite the brutality, Nefarium is not a purists dream. Indeed, track six, Servus Servorum Satanae, features a violin and a rather implicit folk melody that is tortured and brutalized for effect. Unneeded. The sound is not the strongest with production falling short of today’s majority, but is still well within the realm of acceptable. The drummer might be muffled here and there, but he sure can blast a massive beat.
Ad Discipulum is otherwise a brutal and vehement release with a theme around Christian characters, which lends it an air of distinction. – Ali “The Metallian”
