SADIS EUPHORIA - INSTINCT | OBSESSION - WILLOWTIP
Having never heard of the band prior to the arrival of this album at Metallian Towers, the full-length was to be judged without any context and strictly based on its musical merits. The Pittsburgh gang is a brutal death metal act with loooow vocals. One can think of Sadis Euphoria as the son of Suffocation. There is a hint of Dying Fetus in the guitars and the vocalist invites comparisons to Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition. That is right, he is of the tunnel-of-wind variety! The brutality is only interrupted by an instrumental on track ten and a couple of trippy/psychedelic moments oddly inserted towards the end of the CD. Otherwise, Sadis Euphoria is a no-holds-barred brutal band with one of the cornier logos out there. - Ali "The Metallian"
