History & Biography The goth and doom rockers existed between 1989 and 1998. The first recorded output was a 1991 demo simply called Y. Alastis' Eric Bouillou was on vocals and bass here. Eodipus was the 1992 demo. Switzerland's own Witchhunt Records signed the band and issued Ames De Marbre in 1993. The record garnered positive reactions in the metal underground despite the keyboards, female vocals, violin, cello and flute. Gradel was the lyricist and would publish books of his poetry later. This album would be revisited by rerelease label, Vic Records, eventually. Misanthrope was part of the Macabre Dance Tour alongside Sadness and Celestial Season during May of 1994.
Danteferno credited Lloyd on keyboards and Celtic Frost's Martin Eric Ain as having helped arrange the music. It was inspired by Dante's Inferno. Godhead had given the band a relatively large studio budget, but the lack of distribution (again) dashed the band's hopes. The 1997 EP Evangelion was to be followed by a full-length, but the third release on a third label proved to be the band's last. The EP featured four new tracks and three old ones. This mini-album was described by the label as "dark gothic metal." The label promised the band a tour of Poland with Limbonic Art, Behemoth and Cold Passion. The label was also financing a video clip for the song Heretic. Keyboard player Kron was in the act in 1997.
Reviews SADNESS - EVANGELION - MYSTIC
Should you recall either of this Swiss band's previous releases or the Chiva side-project, then you know that this album has very little to do with metal. Firmly entrenched in the gothic corner, the Swiss band has left its previous record company and aligned itself with Poland's Mystic Production which has released this MCD as a preview of the band's upcoming full-length. Featuring four new tracks and three older recordings, the album with the highly provocative cover showcases an act that appeals to fans of Lacrimosa, Love Like Blood, etc. with the added element of an industrial touch. - Ali "The Metallian"
