SEARING I - BLOODSHRED - BLACK LOTUS
Well, the band with the odd name and an album whose title is a play on words is a Swedish thrash metal band. The album features fourteen songs, including Empty Threats, Tons Of Hate, A Treacherous Ride, Burn Alive and others, and rages hard from start to finish. The sound is hardly revolutionary and the production is on the thin side, although the members do their best to keep the intensity going at high speeds. For comparison purposes Searing I is like a mix of newer Kreator, Carnal Forge and the Dutch Altar vocally. There is nothing here that an be construed as terrible, although recommending the band is not going to be in the cards either. A few more memorable riffs and solos, a beefier production and a more individual style are in order before that happens. - Anna Tergel
